What does Nā Liko mean?
In Hawaiian culture, the liko (buds) of plants were often referred to as keiki (children), which needed to be nurtured, guided, and specially cared for in order for the liko to grow and blossom into a beautiful adult.
Keiki require constant care, and Nā Liko continues the special and educative care of keiki in the afterschool hours, providing a nurturing, positive, and enriching atmosphere for growth. |
